We visit boutique family own wineries making terroir driven wines, offering selection of wine styles, varieties at different price points. Some of the wineries we visit:
de iuliis – 2015 Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year and 2016 Hunter Valley Cellar Door of the Year, known for Semillon and Shiraz, also discover their Verdelho, Chardonay, Touriga or Tempranillo
Tintilla fine wines and olives – making trophy winner Semillon and Shiraz, you can taste also Sangiovese blends, plus home made olives, chutneys and tapenades
Piggs Peake -good place to visit and taste great wines, reds especially
For the Hunter Valley tour, I liked the approach – quality over quantity. We went to two wineries but the quality of the wines were excellent (Leogate and Ballabournen). It wasn’t a mad rush to cover as many wineries as possible as other tour groups will do. In both wineries, we were the only the tour group. We didn’t have to jostle with other guests to get a sample. The hosts had enough time to talk about the type of wine being served and we had the time to savour every sip.
Lunch was at Nanna Kerr’s. Food quality was really good and the views of vineyard and the surrounding mountains was spectacular. Guests can dine at their restaurant or eat their meals at the picnic area.

I have visited the hunter as a Sydney local myself and still found the tour to be a delightful experience! Exceeded all my expectations. They wildlife park allowd us to get up close to the popular native animals without having to worry about crowds. The tour guide was also very knowledgeable and introduced us to some of the best wines the hunter valley has to offer. I will continue to Book this tour for my future visitors to Sydney!

This was an excellent tour and the best out of five I’ve done in Sydney. We stopped at the wild park and saw the kangaroos and the koala and other interesting animals, had a tasty coffee/sweets and made our way to the wineries. Wineries were great, there were four or five different ones and we had a great time. We also stopped at some cheese tasting place. It was so much fun, everything was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable about wines and we all had a great time

Very well organized tour with a nice selection of good wine producers, but also a very appreciated stop at a wildpark with koalas and other typical Australian animals. The travel guide had very much knowledge in / experiences from wine production.

All activities are very interesting, we tried a lot of good wines and interacted with kangoroos, koalas etc. It is a good choice for couples and families.
